One of the things that grieves all of us that work at JRA is meeting a potential student and knowing that we can change his or her life—but they can’t afford the tuition. We give a significant amount of tuition assistance, but it’s never enough. So many low-income children get a double whammy, unable to afford the therapies they need AND not getting the help they need at school, often because of behavioral challenges. We know we can help those, especially the younger ones. How can we get those kids to JRA?
This year’s 101 Club drive will build up our tuition assistance, or scholarship, fund. All students pay something, and that will not change. But our board has made an ambitious promise: they plan to raise teacher salaries to properly compensate our talented and hard-working staff while still maintaining a significant level of assistance to low-income students.
The 101 Club is how we started JRA. We asked 101 people to give $101 and they did. Some gave much more than that, and our first donation this month was for the $505 club. One of our regular donors gives $314 every year on her birthday, March 14. One board member donates through her workplace each month. Some can’t afford the full $101 but give a lesser amount a couple of times a year. All gifts are so appreciated, and they are tax-deductible. You can send a check to JRA or you can use our donation link on this page.
Your gift will enable me to look a desperate parent in the face and say, “Don’t worry, we can help.” Your gift can enable a student who is failing in his or her present school to experience success. Your gift can change a life. Thank you for your gift!
